Driving the Marketing for the World Floorball Championships 2026

We provide end-to-end marketing services for the World Floorball Championships 2026 in Finland. We support the Finnish Floorball Federations with their tournament operations with our marketing efforts. Our collaboration includes planning of marketing strategy, implementation of marketing campaigns and overall material production from marketing campaigns to other event-related materials.

About the Event

The IFF Men’s World Floorball Championships are held every two years and organized by a local organizing committee, appointed by the national federation together with the International Floorball Federation.

Floorball is one of the most popular sports in Finland, with over 350,000 people playing the sport as a hobby. Finland is also one of the most successful nations in international floorball, with multiple world championship titles – including the most recent men’s championship in 2024.

Our role

For an event of this scale, the Finnish organizing committee chose to entrust its marketing operations to Upsid. Together with the Organizing Committee and the Finnish Floorball Federation’s in-house marketing team, we plan and carry out all marketing campaigns for the championships.

Our collaboration started with defining the overall marketing concept and strategy. Together with the federation’s professionals, we set clear goals and mapped out how to reach them throughout the tournament lifecycle.

Working with Upsid has made our marketing operations smoother and more efficient. Their proactive support and reliable way of working have been key in delivering consistent marketing throughout the championships.

Campaign Example: Final Weekend Ticket Packages

For the Final Weekend Ticket Package launch, we tapped into the global social media trend around the number “67”. We adapted the concept to work with the numbers six and seven in a way that fit the championship’s visual identity and message. The campaign stayed true to the core marketing message while adding an extra layer of engagement for Finnish floorball fans.

The campaign resulted in 80% of the Final Weekend tickets being sold within the first month of sales.

For this and future campaigns, we curate messages for the right audiences and produce visual content that follows the defined visual identity. We also work closely with media and advertising partners to ensure campaigns reach the right people through the right channels.

Flexibility with outsourcing

Outsourcing marketing offers flexibility and broader resources for a short-term project like the World Floorball Championships. Building a full internal marketing team for a limited-time event can be challenging, and even then, many tasks often need to be outsourced.

By outsourcing marketing operations from the start, the organizing committee can reduce workload and focus on the event itself, while marketing support is available when needed.
